Some of my favorite vampire films part 2

Here is a continuation of some of my top vampire films. Once again, they are in no particular order.

4) Lips Of Blood / Lèvres de sang is a 1975 film written and directed by the late, great Jean Rollin, who created many amazing, and very unique vampire films.  Lips Of Blood has many of the same themes as the aforementioned Franco films. A beautiful, poetic film about time, memory, desire, love, and loss. One of my favorite Rollin films, as well as one of my favorite vampire films of all time, Lips Of Blood captures nostalgia, longing, and the melancholy of true love. Like the previously covered Franco films, this is one of the best.  Highly recommended.

5) Nadja is a 1994 film written and directed by the great Michael Almereyda. An existential masterpiece shot in black & white film and pixelvision video. Another moody, melancholic gem that perfectly captures the human condition. A must see.

6) Vampire Femmes is a 1999 SOV film written and directed by the magnificent Tim Sullivan. A dark vampire film noir with great characters. Check out my full review on this very blog
